Speaker of the month
Garry Yong Gee
The Society was delighted to have Gary attend the meeting and give an address on the Orchids of Panama. Gary is and internationally known speaker, highly respected as an authority on species orchids and an excellent photographer.
His presentation featured a slide and video show with many species varieties of plants and orchids and this was accompanied by knowledgeable comment. It was particularly interesting in that what was highlighted gave an insight to attendees of the many plants most of us will never have the opportunity to see in their natural habitat.
He covered the diversity of plants that grow in the various elevations of Panama which lies between Costa Rica and Colombia. He showed plants growing in the lowland areas of three hundred metres to the cloud forest habitat of two thousand metres.
Members were very fortunate to be able to see and hear this world class presentation.
The following upcoming events were announced. Save the dates in your diary today!
